A Real Family Keepsake

Today they poured our driveway for our new house. I really wanted to put our handprints in the concrete, so that we could have a family keepsake forever.
I must say though, I was a little concerned about how Madi would do....
I was really worried that she would try to put her hands on everything and everyone, but I was very proud of her; she did wonderfully with it. Jackson and Madi both did a great job! And look at the beautiful keepsake that we will have forever!!! I'm one proud Mommy!!!

My Blue-Eyed Girl

Last Thursday, we took my Daddy out for his belated birthday dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Tryon, NC. It's one of my top 5 favorite places to eat. I always ask to be taken there for my birthday too.

On the way home Madi was getting a little fussy, so we were lucky enough to find the only piece of candy in the car. But, as you can see from the pictures, it was a BRIGHT BLUE lollipop!
She loved it too! And, best of all, it matched her beautiful blue eyes!!

Our New House---in progress

We have finally decided to build a house on Brian's family land. We have been waiting for 8 years before we finally decided to build there because we knew that this would be our last house for quite a while. We have been taking the build slowly because we wanted Jackson to be able to finish out the school year at his current school. He loves his school and all of his friends and teachers there. This is his 4th year there and he is going to miss it terribly, but is excited about his new school that he will be attending in the Fall for 5-year-old Kindergarten---can you believe it---our baby is going to be in Elementary School!

Oh, how fast they grow-up!!! Before I know it he'll be going off to his first day of college, but I'm not sure he'll let me take his picture with his backpack :-)

Welcome to our Family Blog

Well, I have finally decided to start a family blog. I have been wanting to do one for so long, but as usual, haven't been able to find the time. I think this will be a great way for me to share with our family and friends what is going on with our family these days. It is also going to become a great tool for me to use to document our daily life so that when I have time to sit down and work on our scrapbooks I will be able to look back at this blog.
